Everybody likes to have someone in their corner; someone who believes in them and is backing them.  To be honest, people like to support and encourage other people.  Look at the size of our stadiums.  Thousands and tens of thousands, even over 100,000 people will join together on a given day and time to cheer on their team.  On a much smaller scale, people in general, when they see someone down and out, reach out to try to encourage or help them.  Whether it is when things are good or bad, we all like someone supporting us.

This is especially true when your world is falling apart or you are facing a mountain.  It is often when we are going through our darkest hours that we feel the most alone.  In reality our friends do not care less.  It is just that our predicament magnifies our loneliness.  No one is there to help or support us.  It is not that people love us or care for us any less.  It is just that so much is rising against us that it feels like we are on our own.

We need support and encouragement most when the enemy is attacking us.  It is one thing to go through a hardship in life.  It is an entirely different scenario to find ourselves being attacked by the enemy of our soul, Satan.  This is exactly the situation we find in Luke 22:31-32.  Jesus said, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”

How great is that?  For Jesus to look at you and say I am praying for you.  Who better can you have in your corner than God Himself?  Jesus acknowledged first that Satan desired to cause Peter to fail.  Right on the heels of that Jesus says but I am praying for you!  Even if there is no one else in your corner, the only person you need in your corner is Jesus.

Know with assurance today that you are not alone.  If no one has hugged your neck lately and told you that you were the most important person in the world then just remember Jesus is praying for you.  If the obstacles are stacking up and you are feeling more down than ever and you feel all alone, Jesus is praying for you.  If Satan is attacking you wanting you to fail, Jesus is praying for you.  You have the King of kings and the Lord of lords in your corner.  You cannot lose.  You cannot fail.  Jesus is praying for you.

Just know that regardless of how alone you feel, no matter how empty you seem to be, if you feel like there is no one in your corner cheering you on, know that God is always rooting for you, believing in you, cheering for you and praying for you.  That alone is enough.
